“Research”, “Market Research”, and “Data & Insights” are all terms for a really large industry that helps products get built, decisions get made, and helps furthers science. Moreover, there is another part of this industry that facilitates how this gets done with speed, agility, and precision. With the help of others in the industry, we are finally honing in on a name for where companies like us really sit- ResTech.
The technology aspect of ResTech is the same model as AdTech with the use of the programmatic space, and MarTech with the range of software and tools that assist in achieving goals. Both terms are primarily focused on advertising with the best ways to get messaging to an audience, and connecting with them in an authentic way… viola, Native advertising was born as a mix of the two.
NATIVE SURVEYS ™, inBrain’s proprietary product, doesn’t mean just native looking to apps (although we do offer plenty of customization), it means native to users and their experience.
Obviously, this post is about Rewarded Surveys… because I am writing it, but what’s a little different, is how to improve the rewarded survey experience.
NATIVE SURVEYS ™ facilitates unique monetization environments where someone can show their own survey wall, curate a list of only short surveys to display, or only show a survey in the event that it’s a 1 minute survey. And all of this happens in the mobile app’s UI so you wipe away the friction point of a “show surveys” button. Instead, users can immediately see surveys and tap a survey to take it seamlessly.
There are a lot of surveys out there, and a lot of good surveys at that… they are just hard to find in the sea of programmatic marketplaces. What if you could match and reach users with 10 surveys that are specifically targeted to them based on Rank, Length of Survey, and the value of your apps currency?
For example:
If a survey is of time X-min and the value is greater than $Y, show this survey on the home screen of your app or in between a level for a game.
If a user completes a task/offer in the app and a 1min survey is available, you could showcase an interstitial that says something like “You earned 500 IAC (In App Currency)! Would you like to increase your earnings by 350 IAC with a 1-minute survey? ” then boom – their tap takes them directly to the survey within the app.
API integrations are quite complex and can be a heavy lift for a lot of mobile developers who are just experimenting with new types of monetization. If a developer can handle the complexity of the API integration, then they have a lot of flexibility in how they want to implement their integration.
Survey Wall SDKs are very easy to get up and running and are a solid “out-of-the-box” solution. However, there are limitations of where this experience can be placed in the application.
NATIVE SURVEYS™ effectively provides the same control as a Survey API would, but has unique advantages over an API:
This alleviates dev time from heavy lifting on the yield management side because inBrain sends over the top 10 surveys in our inventory perfectly mediated for an individual. This also alleviates dev time from a mobile integration perspective.
This means you don’t have to:
Instead, inBrain handles this so all that is left for a mobile publisher is a quick integration of a powerful monetization solution.
NATIVE SURVEYS ™ ideally gets the best of both worlds – low complexity and high flexibility. It gives product people a lot of range in how they want to display their survey experience without having to go through the tedious technical process of an API integration which needs to be supported with infrastructure.
NATIVE SURVEYS ™ truly gives publishers the control of not just our surveys but also the design of placement.
